I have been using blue, silver and white as my Christmas colours for the past few years. Trying to save money where I can, as we all know that Christmas decorations can be very expensive, I have been embellishing many regular items to go with my decor.
Pinecones are one of the easiest things to use for the Holiday season and if you are lucky enough to be able to collect them…they are free!
I added small pinecones to a tray on my coffee table but first I added sparkle to them with some white paint and Epsom salt.
Three easy steps:
1. Brush pinecones lightly with white paint (any white paint) and let dry
2. Brush the tips of the pinecones with white craft glue
3. Dip the pinecones in Epsom salt
You know I love easy to do projects and this one is EASY!! If you use scented Epsom salts they will also smell wonderful.
A large tray filled with pinecones, blue and silver ornaments, and candles…perfect centerpiece for my family room coffee table.
Have a wonderful and thanks for stopping by,

Thanks Beverly, the scented Epsom salt is great…that is what I used. Have fun making some.
Oh my!!!!!! Your decor is beautiful and those pinecones are sooooooo lovely!!! Thank you for sharing your secret. I love epsom salt and I was thinking that I can use my lavender and vanilla epsom salts!!!! Hugs, Beverly
That sounds lovely Candy!! I am in the process of finishing our tree this year and I am still doing the silver and aqua. You can use the glitter instead of the Epsom salt.I made some red ones with glitter.
Your pine cone, candles, and bauble tray is lovely. I feel myself slipping into a blue Christmas after seeing this lovely tray. I already have the pine cones, no Epsom salts, but I do have glitter (for making putz houses) and I have a slew of silver and aqua ornaments and blue and aqua pine cones that I could use to put together a nice tray like yours.
Thanks Liz!! I really like the look of the pinecones, you should try it. It is super easy.
That’s a great idea with the pinecones. I have a bunch I collected at my son’s home in PA when we visited. I should do this to them! I really like the big tray with the glass candleholders and the blue ornaments mixed with the pinecones- it’s a great statement piece!
Thank you Kathryn, that is fantastic. Love your blog and I try to share every week.
Have a great week.
