Take a look at how some Christmas Trees are decorated around-the-world in 2017.

To mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation in Canada the Christmas Tree on Parliament Hill stands 14.3 metres high and glitters with light.

In the heart of Nathan Phillips Square stands Toronto’s official Christmas Tree surrounded by shopping vendors, skating parties and an outdoor rink.

 The Capital Hill Christmas Tree is decorated with traditional colour melodies of gold, silver and white.  Twinkling icicle strings, silver mesh ribbon, and holographic stars are intertwined with over 75,000 LED lights.

 The 75-foot Norway spruce Christmas Tree at the Rockefeller Center is wrapped with more than 50,000 multicoloured LED lights and topped with a Swarovski crystal star.

The Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree is a Norwegian spruce (Picea abies) over 20 metres high and 50-60 years old. The tree is a gift in gratitude for Britain’s support to Norway during War II.

 In the middle of the world-famous department store, Galeries Lafayette, stands this year’s Christmas Tree surrounded by decorated festive window displays.  In a spectacular show…dozens of balloons fall from the ceiling giving shoppers a dazzling experience.

Adorning St. Peter’s Square is the traditional Christmas Tree and giant Nativity scene.  The Christmas Tree, a 28 metre high red fir, is decorated with stars and baubles designed by young cancer patients across the country.  The two metre high Nativity scene figures are made of coloured terracotta and dressed in 18th century Neapolitan costumes.

In the main square of Madrid, at City Hall, stands a giant blue illuminated Christmas Tree (25 metres height, 9 metres diameter).  As a modern structure, people can walk inside the tree and look up at the sky.

At 16 metres in height, the Christmas Tree in front of Greek Parliament in Athens is wrapped with more than 4,000 Christmas lights.

 The enchanting Christmas Tree at St. Stephen’s Basilica is simply breathtaking.  The venue is spectacular and an ice rink surrounds the tree adding to the holiday atmosphere.

The City of Rio de Janeiro each year sets their Christmas tree afloat.  The Lagoa Christmas Tree stands about 280 feet in height and is considered the largest floating tree in the world.
